Bagaha : Shila Devi of village Khajuria under Bhairoganj police station under Bagaha sub-division in West Champaran district, on May 5, 2017, evening, lodged an FIR against six persons of the same village for killing her sixteen year old daughter and keeping her as hostage till they disposed off her body.
The six named accused are: Sharma Sahni, Bikau Sahni, Chhathu Sahni, Buchan Sahni, Rajnish Sahni and Saral Sahni. Of the six accused, police have arrested Sharma Sahni. SDPO, Bagaha, Sanjiv Kumar, said that Shila Devi, wife of Mahesh Sahni, in her FIR, alleged that when she was returning home after grazing her goat on May 4, 2017, she saw the six accused coming out of her house after hanging her daughter Guria Kumari, 16. When she raised an alarm, the accused returned to her house and forcibly took her daughter’s body away and kept her as hostage till they disposed off of the body of her daughter, the SDPO said quoting the FIR.
Sources said that when the accused released Shila Devi, she reached police station on May 5, 2017, evening. Police, on her complaint, lodged a case against six persons and arrested one of them Sharma Sahani whil further investigation is on.
Arbind Kumar, an SI and investigation officer(IO) of the case, on May 6 said that the body of the minor girl was burnt by the accused on May 5 night. He said that the reason behind the murder of the girl could be love affairs.
