Ara : A  minor girl died due to electrocution while two others were injured at village Akhgao Bazaar  under Sandesh police station in Bhojpur district on June 7, 2017, evening. Later, police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured there. The villagers resorted to agitation against the officials of the South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) after the incident.

SHO, Sandesh Police Station, Birendra Kumar Singh said that Lalsa Kumari, 12, daughter of Chhathu Prasad Sao of Akhgao Bazaar, was going to the market to buy some medicine for her ailing mother on June 7 evening. Due to waterlogging on the road, she was trying to pass through the roadside but came in contact with an iron electric poll from which current was flowing and died on the spot. Two passers-by tried to rescue her but themselves got injured. He said that the villagers had already informed the officials of the SBPDCL that current always flow though the iron electric poll but they remained indifferent.
