Girish Shankar appointed CEO, BSEA

Patna : Bihar Government on June 5, 2018, appointed Girish Shankar, a retired Bihar cadre IAS officer of 1982 batch, as Chief Election Officer (CEO), Bihar State Election Authority (BSEA), for 5 years or till the age of 70 years whichever comes earlier from the date of his assuming charge of the post. The General Administration Department (GAD) issued a notification to this effect on June 5.

The appointment has been made under the provisions of Bihar State Election Authority Act 2008. Girish Shankar is a former Union Secretary and had held the posts of Secretary, Department of Heavy Industry, and Secretary, Department of Official Language in Ministry of Home Affairs.
