Stephens, Madison Keys enter semi-finals of French Open 2018

Patna : World No 10 in WTA rankings and reigning US Open Champion Sloane Stephens, 25, USA, World No 13 Madiso Keys, 23, USA, runner up to Stephens in 2017 US Open, reached the semi-finals of French Open 2018 on June 5, 2018. Both have reached the semi-finals of French Open for the first time.

Stephens beat World No 14 Daria Kasatkina, 20, Russia, 6-3, 6-1, in the quarter-finals on Philippe Chatrier court, Roland Garros, Paris. None of the two players fired any Ace in the match. Kasatkina committed two double faults to none by Stephens. Stephens won 5 break points compared to just one by Kasatkina. Stephens won 6 games in a row while Kasatkina won 2. Stephens’ winning percentage on first and second serve was also much better than that of Kasatkina.

Madison Keys defeated World No 98 Yulia Putintseva, 23, Kazakhstan, 7-6, 6-4, in the quarter-finals on Suzanne Lenglen Court, Roland Garros, on June 5. Madison Keys fired 3 Aces to none by Putintseva. Both the players won three games each in a row.
