Nawada: Nawada BJP MP and Union Minister Giriraj Singh sat on fast along with several party leaders and workers at the gate of Nawada collectorate on April 12, 2018, on the call of PM Narendra Modi and national BJP president Amit Shah to expose the disruption of Parliament by the Congress and other opposition parties.
Giriraj termed the disruption of Parliament proceedings as “murder’ of democracy and democratic traditions. He lashed out at the Congress for what he called brazen disrespect to the founders of the constitution by not allowing the Parliament to function by consistently avoiding a healthy debate.
Giriraj, who was accompanied by BJP MLAs Aruna Devi and Anil Singh, Nawada district BJP president Babloo Singh and a large number of party workers, ridiculed Delhi Congress party leaders for making a mockery of fast by stuffing themselves with Chhole Bathure just minutes before the fast at Rajghat in the national capital on April 9, 2018. The Union Minister said that it was not only an insult to the Father of the nation but also of the people who held fast as the best weapon of non-violent protest against atrocities.
On the issue of the withdrawal of security to RJD chief Lalu Prasad, Giriraj said that it was done as per law and the NDA had nothing to do with it.
