Giridih boy dies under mysterious circumstances

Giridih: Love and a wish to marry a girl belonging to a sub- caste of the same community cost a 17 year old boy dearly.The boy identified as Suraj Kumar Rai, one the sons of Suryadeo Rai, a resident of 28 No areas of Bhandaridih panchayat under Giridih muffasil police station of the district, on Tuesday morning allegedly died after consuming poisoned. His parents, however, alleged that their son was poisoned by the girl’s family, who had opposed their relation couple of days bck.    

 “In an application given to the district police, the deceased’s father, Suryadeo Rai, has alleged that his son was poisoned by the family of a girl who his son loved and wanted to marry. But nothing can be ascertained unless we completely inquire into the matter,” said Giridih DSP Vijay A Kujur.

“The girl’s family with the help of few others must have hatched conspiracy to end the life of my son. They strategically targeted my son at their home and poisoned him. My son, however, died during the treatment at Sadar hospital on Tuesday morning,” alleged Suryadeo Rai said.

“We had actually opposed their unjustifiable thoughts as both were minors. But ,we did not commit such a crime. We haf not even seen him for the past couple of days,” said the girl’s mother, Ruby Devi. 

“A case of unnatural death has been lodged with the Muffasil PS on the basis of the autopsy report, which has confirmed the death of the boy due to poison,” said Muffasil police station incharge SK Singh.
