New Delhi/Patna : The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet on June 16, 2017, approved the appointment of Dharmendra Singh Gangwar, a Bihar cadre IAS of 1988 batch, as Joint Secretary (JS) , Ministry of Food Processing Industries, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, temporarily downgrading an Additional Secretary (AS) level post for two years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, according to a PIB release.
It may be mentioned here that Bihar government had on June 7, 2017, transferred Gangwar, Principal Secretary, General Administration Department, and appointed him Principal Secretary, Finance Department. The order came into force on June 15. Ravi Mittal, an IAS officer of 1986 batch, who was holding the post of Principal Secretary, Finance, Bihar government, was relieved for central deputation on June 12.
