Patna : World No 31 Taylor Fritz, 21, USA, stunned second seed Alexander Zverev, 22, Germany, in the first round of Swiss Indoors Basel, an ATP World Tour 500 points event, at Basel, Switzerland, on October 22, 2019.

Fritz beat World No 6 Zverev 7-6, 6-4 in 1hr 24 minutes causing a major upset in the tournament. Zverev had reached the final of ATP Shanghai Masters recently.
