Four sentenced to 10 years’ RI in Charas smuggling case

Bagaha:  ADJ 6, Bettiah, Rakeskpati Tiwari on Wednesday sentenced to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment (RI) four accused  including two women Suresh Giri, Prabhu Giri, Mira Devi and Nirmala Devi in a Charas smuggling case. The court also  slapped a fine of Rs 2 lakh on each of them. According  prosecution lawyar Abdul Akhatar, all the accused, residents of village Baripatti under Sirsia police outpost under Chanpatia block in West Champaran district were arrested with 25 packets of contraband Charas at Ramji chowk by Sirsia police sub-inspector Nageshwar Pratap Singh in 2013 under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act.
