Buxar: Four persons were feared drowned to death at Chausa ghat in Buxar district on Wednesday during immersion of idols of goddess Durga. Although the idol immersion schedule was fixed by the local administration yet no diver was deployed at the ghat.
Angry people set the vehicle of local Circle Officer (CO) afire when he reached the ghat after the incident. The CO ran away from there to save his life as police were not present on the spot. When cops from Muffasil police station reached there, the angry people also ran towards them to attack them. However, some local intervened in the matter and tried to calm them down. Till the time of reporting, not a single body was fished out. The people have blocked the road located near the place of occurrence. A large number of people have collected at the ghat.
