Buxar : Three bike borne miscreants shot dead former Sarpanch Jagdish Yadav at village Pratapsagar under Naya Bhojpur Police Outpost in Buxar district on December 8, 2020, morning, when he was sitting outside his house. An FIR was lodged with Naya Bhojpur Police Outpost in this connection.
Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. Old enmity is said to be the cause behind the murder. SHO, Naya Bhojpur Police Outpost, said that the former sarpanch of Chilhari panchayat, Jagdish Yadav, 60, was sitting outside of his house at Pratapsagar village on December 8 morning when three motorcycle borne miscreants reached there and pumped bullets into his head from point blank range and escaped. The family members rushed him to Buxar Sadar Hospital where the doctor declared him brought dead.
Angry over the broad daylight murder murder, the villagers blocked the NH-84 near Pratapsagar paralysing the movement of vehicles for two hours. They burnt tyres on road and raised slogans against the district administration. They were demanding arrest of the miscreants at the earliest and compensation to the next of kin of the deceased. The blockade was lifted after positive response from the police officials.
