Patna: Former Punjab CM Captain Amrinder Singh on January 3 visited Patna City and paid obeisance to Guru Govind Singh Ji Maharaj at Takhat Sri Harmandir Saheb Ji Gurudwara on the occasion of Prakashotsav. He was accorded a warm welcome by Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) president and HRD minister Ashok Choudhary there.

Talking to reporters, Captain Singh lauded Nitish Kumar government for making the event a memorable one. “I had a wish to visit to the land of Guru Ji,” he said adding his wish was fulfilled on January 3, 2017. The former CM also reached langar and offered his services there. He said that the state government has made very nice arrangements for the occasion. “I prayed for the welfare of the entire country including Punjab and Bihar,” he said. Later, he also reached Gandhi Maidan and paid obeisance to Guru Maharaj there.

A Prabaht Pheri was taken out around 4 am with Panch Pyare leading the procession. An elephant was leading the procession and there were a large number of horses and camels in the procession. Hundreds of people had assembled on both sides of the road and chanted `Jo bole so nehal, sat sri akal.’
