Sitamarhi : Former Bairgania Nagar Panchayat member and contractor Rajiv Gautam alias Raja Babu, a resident of ward number 10, was shot at twice by an unidentified armed criminal on March 27, 2017, in Sitamarhi district.
Raja Babu was sitting at a readymade fancy shop at Bairgania Bazaar block headquarters when a criminal reached there and fired on him from a pistol and escaped. He was admitted to a nursing home at Sitamarhi town. The Bairgania block headquarters is located near Indo -Nepal border. Former Riga BJP MLA Moti Lal Prasad said the incident was a reflection of poor law and order situation in the state. The ASP (operations) Sanjiv Kumar Singh visited the place of occurrence and assured the locals that the accused would be arrested soon.
