Ara : Resentment prevails among the villagers  under Charpokhari block in Bhojpur district as they have not been delivered foodgrains from the Public Distribution System (PDS) shops for the last four months allegedly due to  indifferent attitude of the officials of the SFC and state Food and Consumer Protection department. The dealers are facing the wrath of the people but are unable to distribute foodgrains among the villagers as the department did not allot the foodgrains despite depositing the required amount in advance.

Sources said that the ration is not being delivered as the SFC godown seldom opens while the Godwon manager said that ration was not being delivered to bring uniformity in distribution. Sources said that the Food and Consumer Protection department has cancelled allotment of ration for the last three months and so about 76,000 consumers could not be given ration.

Block Supply Officer, Charpokhari, Ajay Kumar said that consumers as well as officials are facing a lot of problem due to non- supply of ration for the last four months. Foodgrains are available in sufficient quantity in the SFC godown. District Supply Officer (DSO), Bhojpur,  Vimal Kumar Singh said that ration was distributed till October 2016 and the department was trying to regularize supply and distribution of ration and hoped problem will be sorted out soon.
