Muzaffarpur : Five persons including four police personnel including a Havildar died in a major accident at village Akuraha on NH-28 under Panapur police outpost in Muzaffarpur district after September 10, 2017, midnight, when a speeding truck dashed the police vehicle. The accident took place when the police team, which was returning from Motipur, was checking vehicles at Akuraha Dhala. The speeding truck suddenly dashed the police vehicle at 12.45 am.

DSP, West, Muzaffarpur, Krishna Murari Prasad and Incharge, Panapur police outpost, D N Jha were also seriously injured in the accident and were admitted to Maa Janaki Hospital located at Baria where the doctors referred Jha to Patna in view of his critical condition. The bodies of the deceased were sent to Sri Krishna Medical College Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur, for post-mortem. Muzaffarpur DM Dharmendra Singh and SSP Vivek Kumar immediately reached Maa Janaki Hospital to inquire about the condition of DSP Prasad and Panapur police outpost incharge Jha.
