Katihar : Katihar police on February 28, 2017, arrested five persons in connection with kidnapping and subsequent murder of Saurav, son of a medicine dealer of Katihar. Saurav’s uncle is among the five persons arrested. Saurav of Amla Tola in Katihar district was kidnapped about two months and subsequently murdered by the kidnappers. After killing Saurav, the kidnappers had demanded Rs 30 lakh as ransom from his father for his release. On the revelation of arrested accused, police on March 1, 2017, exhumed the highly decomposed body of Saurav from a field in Manihari in Katihar district.
