Ara : Three bike borne miscreants shot dead a fire brigade personnel Madan Sah, 50, on Punpur bridge near village Saidanpur under Tarari police station in Bhojpur district on March 30, 2019, late evening, when he was returning home after performing his duty. The incident took place about 500 metres away from Tarari police station.

Police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and also arrested one of the miscreants Binod Singh of village Saidanpur in this connection though two of his accomplices escaped. An FIR has been lodged with Tarari police station in connection with the incident. The reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained. Irate villagers blocked the Ara-Sasaram main road with the body of the deceased in front of the gate of the Tarari police station. They also burnt tyres on road paralysing movement of vehicles.

SHO, Tarari police station, said that Madan Sah, son of late Nagina Sah of Shahjanpur village under Tarari police station, was posted at Tarari. On March 30, 2019, evening, after performing his duty, he was returning home. When he reached near Punpur bridge, three motorcycle borne armed miscreants intercepted him and pumped three bullets into his body and escaped.

DSP (Homeguards) Anuj Kumar said that the family of the deceased would be given Rs 4 lakh and one of his dependents  would also be given a job in the Homeguard.

Dilmano Devi, wife of the deceased, said at Ara Sadar Hospital that brother-in-law (saala) of Binod Singh of the village is in liquor business and police had arrested him and also his father-in-law. Binod Singh had allegedly approached Madan Sah to get police help but Madan Sah had refused, she said. So Binod Singh along with his friend Ravi killed her husband, she alleged.
