Patna: Fire broke out in primary education directorate of state education department on Friday morning. The directorate is located in Vikas Bhavan ( New Secretariat). Three fire tenders rushed to Vikas Bhavan to extinguish the fire. Principal Secretary, Education department, R K Mahajan, and Director, Primary eduation directorate, also reached the spot. The directorate is located on the ground floor of Vikas Bhavan.
Education minister Ashok Chaudhary, who too reached Vikas Bhavan, said that an inquiry would be held into the reasons behind the fire. Sources said that some important documents were gutted in the fire. A large number of people including secretariat employees had collected at the spot making it difficult for the fire fighters to extinguish the fire. They were asked to leave the place.
