FIR lodged against 6 in connection with Ara Station shootout

Ara : Soni Khatoon, wife of slain Md Haqim, on May 5, 2018, evening, lodged an FIR with Government Rail Police (GRP), Ara,  against six persons including Aslam Sheikh  in connection with double murder on the campus of Ara railway station on May 4, 2018,  night. She alleged that Aslam Sheikh of Tari Mohalla locality under Town police station, Ara, deceived her husband and was instrumental in the murder of her husband and Pankaj Kumar Bind alias Bottle.

Soni Khatoon alleged that Aslam Sheikh had taken her husband Md Haqim and Pankaj Kumar Bind alias Bottle with him on motorcycle under a well planned conspiracy and disappeared from the scene on pretext of chewing tobacco when the assailants attacked and killed the duo.

Four armed miscreants had shot dead Md Haqim Raine of Bhaluhipur and Pankaj Kumar Bind alias Bottle of Bind Toli on the campus of Ara railway station when they were taking tea there.

SHO, GRP, said that eight persons were located in the CCTV footage escaping after the murder. He suspected that miscreants parked their motorcycles at a distance from Ara railway station and four of them came on foot at the station while the rest were keeping vigil on the situation. After killing Md Haqim Raine and Panka Kumar Bind alias Bottle all the eight miscreants escaped, the SHO said adding two of them went towards Nawada police station while the rest fled away towards Katira locality but their blurred face could not be identified in the CCTV footage.

Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar and Rail SP Ashok Singh are monitoring the investigation process and trying to get some clues regarding the double murder.

Meanwhile, security arrangement on the Ara Railway Station campus and also on the platforms has been augmented and the GRP and the RPF personnel have been asked to patrol on the campus and the platforms.

Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar said that police were searching for the assailants and hoped that they would be arrested at the earliest. He said that the murders might be the  handiwork of a notorious criminal languishing in Ara jail as Md Haqim Raine was a member of the rival gang.
