FIR lodged against 12 persons for attacking cops at E Champaran villgae

Motihari : Circle Officer (CO),  Chiraiya, in East Champaran District, Sachindra Kumar  has  lodged an FIR against  12 persons including 3 women of village Kathamaliya under Sikarganj police station, for attacking police on September 6, 2019, when reached the village to remove encroachments. Police are conducting raids to arrest the accused. Kathmaliya is around 16 km away from Motihari, headquarters of East Champaran district.

The CO,  in his  FIR,  has alleged that on September 6, 2019, he along with  police force reached village Kathmaliya to remove
the encroachment over a drain .As soon as they started removing the encroachments, around one dozen villagers including three women attacked them with stone and other blunt objects in which SHO, Chiraya police station, Lallan Kumar, and six police jawans sustained injuries. The unruly mob made murderous attack on the SHO  but he escaped , the FIR said and added they also snatched the cellphones of policemen and tried to  make the SHO hostage.

All the  policemen and the SHO fled away from there to save their lives, the CO said in his FIR. He further said that Rajiv Kumar, Police Inspector, Dhaka, reached there in time with additional police force after which they could return safely . The MLA of Chiraya Lal Babu Gupta , who was there, also  returned due to protest by the mob.
