Giridih: In a major development related to Friday’s Maoists encounter with the security forces at Pathalgarwa forests in Parasnath range in Giridih district of Jharkhand, Pirtand police have identified the perpetrators and lodged an FIR against 12 named and about 60 unnamed activists of the CPI (Maoists) on Saturday evening.

“The perpetrators include the top Maoist commanders Ajay Mahto, Nunuchand Manjhi, Prashant Manjhi, Vivek, Anal Da, Krishna Hemram, Ranvijay Mahto, Babu Ram Manjhi and few others. This apart there are almost 60 unnamed ultras also  allegedly involved in Friday’s encounter with the security forces,, said Giridih ASP( Operations), Kunal Kumar. Meanwhile, the security forces intensified their anti – naxal operations across the suspected locations with fresh modus operandi in inaccessible part of Parasnath hills and adjoining hamlets.

“We can’t speak much as our search operations and massive manhunt for the accused are still on in remote parts of Parasnath and suspected locations especially in the dense forests and small hamlets on the Northern parts of Parasnath terrains,” Kumar added.

A 32 year old CoBRA jawan Balan Harijan from Assam was shot dead during an encounter with the Maoist near Pathalgarhwa forest areas under Pirtand PS in Giridih in Jharkhand.  He was associated with Barhi based 203rd CoBRA battalion.
