FIR against 13 villagers, 200 unknown in Sitamarhi for attacking Darbhanga Bal Grih team

Sitamarhi : Sursand police in Sitamarhi district on September 20, 2019, registered a case against thirteen villagers including Koriyahi punchayat Mukhia Ram Ishwar Ram and two hundred unknown persons for attacking a Darbhanga Bal Grih team and damaging its vehicle on September 19, 2019.. The case has been lodged by an ASI of Bhittha Police Outpost (OP) Hare Krishna Singh.
On September 19, a Darbhanga Bal Grih (Reformatory) team with three children on a four wheeler reached the Sursand police station locality on a four- wheeler to hand them over to their family members. Meanwhile, a rumour spread in the area that they are allegedly child lifters and on suspicion the entire team except the children were thrashed and the vehicle was also damaged.  When the Bhittha OP police reached the spot near village Koriyahi they were also not spared.

The village mob used sticks and iron rods. The Darbhanga Bal Grih Team Members were admitted to a private clinic at Sursand. They are, however, out of danger. Ranjeet Paswan and Laloo Paswan have been arrested in this connection so far.
It may be mentioned here that such rumour have surfaced at a few villages in the district within a fortnight.
