Sasaram : A named FIR lodged on March 3 evening by Town police station, Sasaram, in Rohtas district against a dozen persons including Nasariganj block Pramuk Pawan Kumar, Up Pramukh Vikas Kumar Singh, Dehri Mukhia Pankaj Kumar, ex-district board member Anil Singh for allegedly patronizing sand mafias and threatening police personnel the same day.
But, those figuring in the FIR said that they had gone to police station to seek justice to a youth whom police had beaten up and taken into custody. SHO, Nasariganj Police Station, Samrat Singh, however, claimed said that these persons had come to the police station to get a sand laden truck released and when the police refused to release it truck, they created ruckus. He said an FIR has been lodged against them on the direction of the senior officials for patronizing sand mafias, threatening police personnel with dire consequences and setting ablaze the police station. But, the accused strongly refuted all the charges.
