Festive mood fast gripping Ara residents

Ara : A festive mood is fast gripping the residents of Ara town as people worshiped the sixth of the nine forms of goddess Durga on September 26, 2017. The traditional drummers have started beating their decorated instrument heralding the advent of Durga Puja festival from September 2, 2017. Puja committees have made elaborate arrangements for welcoming Goddess Durga symbolizing and are busy giving final touches to the special tents and shamianas erected for the purpose. As per a rough estimate, idols will be installed at about 400 places in Bhojpur district.

Devotees including men women and children are also visiting different important temples at Ara including Aranaya Devi Temple. At different places puja pandals and houses of devotees, priests have been engaged for recitation of Shri Durga Saptashati. Meanwhile, artisans are extremely busy to give finishing touches to the idols. At several places the images are being given finishing touches at the Puja Pandal itself. The organizers are emphasising on spiritual purity.

The puja pandals are also being decorated at almost every place and being tastefully illuminated. Noted astrologer Om Prakash Pandey said it would be ten-day festival this Dussehara as per the Hindu calendar (Vikram Samvat),

Bhojpur district administration has held peace committee meeting and making special security arrangements for the occasion. Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar said that the officials had been directed to keep a close watch on the sensitive areas. He said additional police pickets have been set up besides round the clock patrolling has started in all the important and vulnerable areas. The Puja organizers themselves removing filth and garbage and cleaning the choked drains at many places in Ara Town.
