Patna : Top seed and World No 2 in ATP rankings Roger Feder, 37, Switzerland, and World No 19 Borna Coric, 21, Croatia, on October 12, 2018, entered the semi-finals of Shanghai Masters tennis championship, an ATP World Tour 1,000 point tournament played on hard courts at Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena, Minhang, Shanghai, China.
Defending champion Federer beat World No 12 Kei Nishikori, 28, Japan, in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 in the quarter-finals firing 10 Aces in the match. Nishikori, the 8th seed, committed 3 double faults to just 1 by Federer. Federer won 3 break points while Nishikori Coric won 4 break points to 2 by Ebden. He also won 4 games in a row to 2 by Ebden.
Federer will play Coric in the semi-finals on October 13, 2018. Reigning Wimbledon and US Open champion Novak Djokovic, 31, Serbia, will clash with World No 5 Alexander Zverev, 21, Germany, in the other semi-finals the same day.
