Federer beats Zverev to enter semi-finals of ATP World Tour Finals

Patna : World Number 2 tennis player Roger Federer, Switzerland, defeated World Number 3 Alexander Zverev, 20, Germany, 7-6, 5-7, 6-1, in a Group A match at 02 Arena, London, on November 14, 2017, night, to enter the semi-finals of ATP World Tour Finals with match to spare.

Federer, 36, who had defeated Jack Sock, 25, US, in his first Group A match, will now face Marin Cilic, Croatia, in his third and final match. Sock defeated Cilic 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 in his second Group A match earlier on the day. Sock will now play Zverev for a place in semi-final.  Zverev had defeated Cilic in his opening match. World Number 1 Rafael Nadal, 31, Spain, pulled out of the tournament due to knee injury. A hobbling Nadal  was stunned by David Goffin, Belgium, in a thrilling contest in a Group A match on November 13 night.
