Patna :  World Number 2 Roger Federer, Switzerland, on November 12, 2017, night, beat World Number 9 Jack Sock, US, in the Group B round robin league of ATP World Tour Finals at O2 arena, London, 6-4, 7-6. The ATP World Tour Finals got underway on November 12 and will conclude on November 19, 2017. Sock committed six double faults in the match. Federer is aiming to win the tournament for the seventh time in his career.

The best 8 singles players and doubles team have qualified for the event. Federer is in Group B also comprising Alexander Zverev ( Germany), Marin Cilic ( Croatia), and Jack Sock. World Number 1 tennis player Rafael Nadal, Spain, is Group A with Dominic Thiem (Austria), Grigor Dimitrov ( Bulgaria), and David Goffin ( Belgium). Nadal will play his first match against Goffin on November 13. The top two from both the groups will qualify for the semi-finals.
