Father- daughter arrested with 5 kg Heroin, Rs 5.3 lakh cash at Ara

Ara : Bhojpur police, on a tip off, conducted raids at Godana road under Nawada police station, Ara,  on July 7, 2017, and arrested a father – daughter duo along with 5 kg Heroin and Rs 5.30 lakh cash. Later, they were forwarded to jail.

Bhojpur SP Kshatranil Singh got information that some persons were coming to Ara with Heroin from Kayamnagar. He immediately formed a police team under SHO, Nawada police station, Neyaz Ahmad that conducted raids at Godana road under Nawada police station and arrested Sanjay Kumar and his daughter Poonam Kumari alias Sujata. On interrogation, both revealed where the intoxicants were kept. Police team conducted raid at a big building on Godana road and seizeded 5 kg of Heroin, paracetamol booster and Rs 5.30 lakh cash.

The SP said that police also recovered some photographs which revealed that the arrested lady smuggler Sujata was perhaps the wife of Bhojpuri Hero Pawan Singh.

Sanjay Kumar said that his daughter Poonam Kumari alias Sujata was married to Pawan Singh but later he went back on his statement. Sujata said that she had met Pawan Singh at Nagari Pracharni Sabhagar at a function  but she refused to disclose more in this connection.
