Muzaffarpur : The future of about 40,000 students of Distance Education Directorate, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University (BRABU), Muzaffarpur, is in jeopardy as the university is yet to get A Grade from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
NAAC is an autonomous body funded by UGC, with headquarters at Bengaluru, Karnataka. The NAAC, established in 1994, assesses and accredits higher education institutions (HEIs) in India.
BRABU officials say that under a new UGC decision, the Distance Education Directorate on only those universities can admit student which have been granted A Grade by NAAC. BRABU had been granted Grade B by NAAC in 2015.
