Sasaram : Some armed persons shot dead a farmer Ajay Kumar Singh, 50, at village Delhua under Dinara police station in Rohtas district on June 2, 2017, night. A named FIR has been lodged with Dinara police station against five persons but no arrest has so far been made in this connection. A woman Rukmini Devi is said to be the mastermind behind the incident. Police have taken her into custody for interrogation. Ajay Kumar Singh gave his statement to police before succumbing to his bullet injuries.
SHO, Dinara police station, Satyendra Kumar Satyarthi said that Ajay Kumar Singh of Delhua village had gone to Rukmini Devi’s house on her invitation on June 2 where Raghunath Sah and Laxman Yadav of Delhua, Parshuram Yadav of Panapur and Laloo Paswan of Bhagwanpur were already present. They took Ajay Kumar Singh to the outskirts of the village and shot at him and escaped.
Ajay was admitted to Kochas Primary Health Centre where the doctors there referred him to Varanasi in view of his critical condition but he succumbed to his injuries on way to Varanasi. The SHO said that a long standing enmity between people of Panapur and Delhua villages over fishing might be the reason behind the incident.
