Farmer shot dead at Bhojpur village

Ara : Some armed miscreants shot dead a farmer Shiv Bachan Singh at village Jagjiwanpur under Idamdpur police station on July 7, 2018, morning. Police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. An FIR has been lodged with Imadpur police station against five persons including August Kumar but no arrest has so far been made in this connection though the police have taken a boy into  custody for quizzing.

The reason behind the incident yet to be ascertained. Irate villagers blocked the road near Jagjiwanpur village paralysing the movement of vehicles for about two hours in protest against the murder. They were demanding immediate arrest of the miscreants and compensation to next of kin of the deceased. The blockade was lifted after positive response from police officials. Tension prevails in and around the village following the incident.

SHO, Imadpur police station, said that at least five armed miscreants including August Kumar said to be residents of village Jagjiwanpur asked a boy of the village to call Shiv Bachan Singh, son of Faidari Singh, to the Memorial place. When Shiv Bachan Singh came there, the miscreants pumped at least four bullets into his body killing him on the spot and escaped. Hearing the gun shots, the villagers rushed to the spot and found Shiv Bachan Singh’s body lying on the floor in pool of blood. They informed police.
