Buxar : Sleuths of Excise & Prohibition Department conducted raids at Chausa Check-post in Buxar district on February 27, 2021, late evening, and arrested three liquor smugglers including a woman along with 42 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL).
The arrested liquor smugglers were identified as Sonu Kumar and Shahzaad Alam of Ismailpur in Nalanda district and Afsana Khatoon of Patna. A named FIR was lodged with police against them under the Excise Act. Later,e police sent them to jail after interrogation.
Excise Superintendent, Buxar, Devendra Kumar, said that a checking drive was going on at Chausa Check-post during which Afsana Khatoon was arrested with 10 bottles of IMFL. Later, the Excise Department sleuths arrested Sonu Yadav and Shahzaad Alam with 32 bottles of IMFL. He stated that the liquor smugglers smuggled IMFL from Uttar Pradesh and sold them in Buxar.
