Sasaram : Four unidentified bike borne miscreants shot dead nephew of an MLA at village Parsathua under the same police station in Rohtas District in South Bihar on February 27, 2021, late evening, and escaped.

The deceased was identified as Sanjeev Kumar Mishra, 40, nephew of  Congress MLA from Kargahar Assembly Constituency Santosh Mishra, and son of late Mahendra Mishra alias Gumati Mishra.  His uncle Girish Narayan Mishra was a minister in Congress government.

Ppolice rushed to the spot and recovered the body and brought it over to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. An FIR was lodged with Parsathua police station in connection with the incident and police are investigating the matter and conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. The reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained. Tension prevails and around the area following the incident though police claimed that situation is well under control.

SHO, Parsathua police station, said that Sanjeev Kumar Mishra  was going to his market under his house at Parasathua on February 27, 2021,  late evening, when four unidentified armed miscreants shot at and injured him. The locals rushed him to Mohania Hospital but he succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital. Sanjeev Mishra’s father and grand-father were also shot dead by miscreants several years back.
