Ara : Collection of  illegal amount from different vehicles on Ara-Patna main road in the name of entry fees under Koelwar Nagar Panchayat has come to surface.

Several drivers including Vishal Rai of Doriganj, Afroz of Ara, Randhir of Chhapra, Raju Kumar of Akhgaon complained that the employees of the Koelwar Nagar Panchayat were forcibly realising excess money ranging from Rs 60 to Rs 70 on numberless receipts from different vehicles in the name of entry fees on Ara-Patna main road. No amount is printed on these receipts and the receipts are given without signature, they alleged.

Koelwar Nagar Panchayat employees are allegedly realising money from vehicles at Koelwar railway station, Koelwar Power Sub-station, Police Station Mor and Shaheed Kapil Deo Chowk.

Executive Officer, Koelwar Nagar, Arun Safi said that entry fee were being realised from  small commercial and passenger vehicles at government rate. He said that if any case of receipts not bearing number is reported he would get inquired into. SHO, Koelwar Police Station, Pankaj Kumar Saini, said that realising of any type of money on the NH is illegal.
