Patna : Opener Rory Joseph Burns, 28, scored his first test centuryas England reached 215/4 in 73 overs in their first innings in the third session of the play on Day 2 of the first Ashes Test against Australia on August 2, 2019. England trail by 79 runs.
Burns, who added 132 runs with captain Joe Root for the second wicket, is batting on 102 in 226 balls with 14 fours. All-rounder Ben Stokes is batting on 11. Burns is playing in his first Ashes test and 7th overall.
For Australia, fast bowler James Pattinson has taken 2/49 in 15 overs while Peter Siddle and Pat Cummins have taken one wicket each.
