Patna : England were skittled out for just 81 runs in 30.4 overs in their second innings in second session of play on Day 2 in 3rd test against India at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, as Axar Patel, who had taken 6/38 in England’s first innings, took 5/32 in 15 overs while fellow spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who had taken 3/26 in first innings, took 4/48 in 15 overs. Washington Sundar took 1 wicket. England had scored 112 in their first innings while India scored 145 runs.

India need to score 49 runs on this turning track to win this match. They were 11/0 in 2 overs at dinner break with Rohit Sharma batting on 6 and Shubman Gill unbeaten on 1. Seventeen wickets have fallen on the day so far. India;s 33 run first innings lead will prove crucial. Axar Patel took 11 wickets in this test.

For England, all-rounder Ben Stokes top scored with 25 runs with 3 fours while captain Joe Root made 19 runs in 45 balls. Ollie Pope scored 12 runs. England had lost their first two wickets without any run on board making it 0/2. They lost their third wicket that of Dominic Sibley (7) at 19 and the 4th wicket at the score of 50.The fifth wicket that of Joe Root fell at 56.  Ollie Pope fell to Ashwin making it 66/6. Jofra Archer also fell to Ashwin for zero and it was 68/7. Ben Foakes (wk) fell to Axar Patel for 8 and it was 80/8. Jack Leach fell to Ashwin for 9 making it 80/9. James Anderson fell to Washington Sundar for zero.
