Patna : England beat South Africa (SA) by 2 runs in the 2nd T20I at Kingsmead, Durban, SA, on February 14, 2020, late night, to level the three-match series 1-1. Chasing a target of 205 runs, SA scored 202/7 in 20 overs with Quinton de Kock (c & wk) scoring 65 in 22 balls hitting 2 fours and 8 sixes while Rassie van der Dussen remained unbeaten on 43 in 26 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes.

SA had won the toss but opted to bowl. England had scored 204/7 in 20 overs with opener Jason Roy scoring 40, Moeen Ali 39 in only 11 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes, and Ben Stokes an unbeaten 47. Moeen Ali was declared Player of the Match.

SA openers Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock added 92 runs for the first wicket in only 47 balls. Kock fell to England fast bowler Mark Wood for a brilliant 65 making it 92/1. Bavuma also fell to Mark Wood for 31 in 29 balls with 2 fours making it 101/2. David Miller fell to Ben Stokes for 21 in 16 balls with 1 fours and 2 sixes and it was 123/3. J J Smuts fell to fast bowler Chris Jordan for 13 making it 158/4. Andile Phehlukwayo also fell to Jordan at the same score for a duck and it was 158/5.

Rassie van der Dssen and Dwaine Pretorius added 44 runs for the 6th wicket. Pretorius fell to Tom Curran for 25 in 13 balls with 2 fours and a 1 six and it was 202/6. Bjorn Fortuin also fell to Tom Curran at the same score on the last ball of the innings and it was 202/7. SA batsmen hit 15 sixes in the innings while England batsmen had hit 13 sixes in their innings.

For England, Tom Curran, Chris Jordan, and Mark Wood took two wickets each while Ben Stokes took one wicket. SA had won the 1st T20I by 1 run on February 12, 2020.
