Patna : England beat Pakistan by 54 runs in the 5th ODI at Headingly, Leeds, UK, on May 19, 2019, night, with fast bowler Chris Woakes taking 5/54 in 10 overs and spinner Adil Rashid taking 2/54 in 7.5 overs. Woakes was named Player of the Match. England won the five-match ODI series 4-0. England opener Jason Roy was named Player of the Series.
Replying to England’s 351/9 in 50 overs, Pakistan were all out for 297 in 46.5 overs with captain Sarfaraz Ahmed (wk) scoring 97 in 80 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes and Babar Azam 80 in 83 balls with 9 fours and 1 six. Pakistan openers : Fakhar Zaman and Abid Ali, scored 0 and 5 runs respectively both getting out to Chris Woakes. Mohd Hafeez also fell to woakes for zero while Shoaib Malik fell to Adil Rashid for 4. Imad Wasim made 25 with 3 fours while Mohd Hasnain scored 28 with 4 fours and a six. Shaheen Afridi remained unbeaten on 19 with 2 fours.
Electing to bat winning the toss, England scored 351/9 with Joe Root scoring 84 in 73 balls hitting 9 fours and captain Eoin Morgan scoring 76 in 64 balls hitting 4 fours and 5 sixes. Openers James Vince and Jonny Bairstow scored 33 and 32 runs respectively adding 63 runs for the first wicket. Jos Butller scored 34 in 34 balls with 4 fours and a six. All-rounder Ben Stokes made 21 in 29 balls with 2 fours while fast bowler Tom Curran remained unbeaten29 in 15 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes.
