Patna : England beat Afghanistan by 150 runs in the 24th match of ICC World Cup at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester, UK, on June 18, 2019, night, with spinner Adil Rashid taking 3/66 in 10 overs. Fast bowlers Jofra Archer and Mark Wood took three and two wickets respectively. England captain Eoin Morgan scored 148 in 71 balls with 4 fours and 17 sixes.

For Afghanistan, Hasmatullah scored 76 in 100 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes while Rahmat Shah scored 46 and Asghar Afghan 44. England won the toss and opted to bat. Replying to England’s 397/6 in 50 overs, Afghanistan scored  247/8 in 50 overs.
