Patna : Electing to bat after winning the toss, England were 68/1 n 28 overs at lunch on the first day of the fifth cricket test against India on September 7, 2018, at Kennington Oval, London, with opener Alastair Cook batting on 37 in 77 ball with 4 fours and Moeen Ali on 2.
Cook’s opening partner Keaton Jennings fell to spinner Ravindra Jadeja for 23 in 75 ball with 2 fours. Cook and Jennings were involved in a 60 run partnership for the first wicket. Jadeja took 1/15 in 5 overs.
England lead the five-test series 3-1. India dropped all-rounder Hardik Pandya and brought in Hanuma Vihari in the test. Vihar is making is making his test debut. Ravindra Jadeja has replaced Ravichandran Ashwin.
