Patna : England were 260/8 in 91.5 overs in their second innings in the 4th cricket test against India at stumps on day three at The Rose Bowl, Southampton, UK, on September 1, 2018, riding on 69 with 7 fours by wicketkeeper Jose Buttler and 48 with 6 fours by Captain Joe Root.

Openers Alastair Cook and Keaton Jennings were out for 12 and 36 runs respectively while allrounder Ben Stokes scored 30. Jonny Bairstow was out for a duck while Moeen Ali made 9. Pacer Sam Curran was batting on 37 with 5 fours at stumps. England had made 246 in their first innings while India had made 273 in their first innings. England lead by 233 runs with two wickets in hand.

For India, Mohammad Shami took 3/53 while Ishant Sharma took 2/36. Jasprit Bumrah and spinner Ravichandra Ashwin took one wicket each. Joe Root was run out.
