Patna: A group of persons thrashed a 70 year old man Dhanu Bunian to death at his house at village Azadbigha under Amba police station in Aurangabad district late on Wednesday night for allegedly practicising sorcery.
The deceased’s daughter- in-law Saroj Devi told the police that some of the villagers were threatening her family and had many times asked them to migrate to some other place. She said that over half a dozen persons forcibly entered the house on Wednesday night and beat her father- in-law to death and escaped from there.
If police sources are to be believed, the villagers had also threatened Dhanu’s family members not to take the matter to the local police. The deceased’s sons: Ramji and Satyendra, have fled from the village after the brutal murder of their father. On getting information, Amba police station SHO Rajesh Kumar reached the village and started investigation into the incident.
