New Delhi : The Election Commission of India (ECI) on January 29, 2020, ordered for the removal of Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur and Parvesh Sahib Singh, MP, from the list of star campaigners of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) for the general elections to the Legislative Assembly of the NCT of Delhi with immediate effect and until further orders, according to a PIB release.
This follows controversial statements allegedly made by the two BJP leaders. The election to the Legislative Assembly of the NCT of Delhi is scheduled for February 8, 2020.
