Ara : Owner of a makeshift eatery Bhikhari Prasad was seriously injured when some miscreants threw acid on him on August 16, 2020, morning, at Shahpur Bazaar under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district. Prasad was admitted to Ara Sadar Hospital. He is a resident of Shahpur Ward No 10. Old enmity is said to be the cause behind the incident.
The incident triggered anger among the local residents who blocked Ara-Buxar main road near Shahpur Badi Mathia for about two hours raising slogans against the district administration. They were demanding arrest of miscreants. The blockade was lifted after positive assurance from police officials.
A named FIR has been lodged by Shahpur police station in this connection on the statement of the injured. Police are investigating into the incident.
SHO, Shahpur police station, Akhilesh Kumar said that Bhikhari Prasad and others had quarrelled over opening of makeshift eateries on the road. On August 16 morning, Bhikhari Prasad was at the gate of his house at Badi Mathia around 9 am when eight persons came and threw acid on him and escaped. He fell on the ground writhing in pain. The locals rushed him to Shahpur Referral Hospital where the doctor referred him to Ara Sadar Hospital after first aid.
