Patna : COVID-19 cases rose to 1,04,093 in Bihar on August 16, 2020, with 2,187 more persons including 253 from Patna,177 from Bhagalpur, 127 from Madhubani, 113 from Aurangabad, 97 from Saharsa, 97 from Muzaffarpur, 96 from East Champaran, 90 from Nalanda, and 81 from West Champaran testing positive to it on August 15, 2020.
According to State Health Department sources, 82 persons from Purnia, 81 from West Champaran, 78 from Sitamarhi, 74 from Saran, 71 persons from Gopalganj, also tested positive to COVID-19 on August 15, 2020. It may be mentioned here that 3,536 persons had tested positive to COVID-19 in Bihar on August 14, 220.
Of the 1,04,093 COVID patients in the state, a total of 72,566 patients have been declared cured till date including 3,891 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 69.71 %.
The COVID-19 death toll in Bihar jumped to 537 with 22 new deaths being reported from different parts of the state during last 24 hours including five from Patna, four from Gaya, two from East Champaran, two from Rohtas, one each from West Champaran, Siwan, Munger, Bhagalpur, Bhojpur, Nawada, Buxar, Darbhanga, and Gopalganj.
The COVID death toll jumped to 101 in Patna on August 16, 2020. Patna has reported 16,621 positive cases till date. Bhagalpur has reported 41 deaths and Gaya 37.
