Bagaha : Two FIRs were lodged with Bagaha town police station in West Champaran district on April 16, 2017, in connection with death of a patient Purnmasi Baitha, 55, of Dindyalnagar locality under Bagaha Nagar Parishad, at Bagaha sub-divisional hospital and subsequent vandalism at the hospital by the attendants recently.
Bagaha Town police station SHO Mohd Ayub said that an FIR was lodged against Deputy Superintendent of the hospital Dr A K Tiwari by the deceased’s son Mohan Baitha accusing him of negligence resulting in death of his father Purnmasi Baitha besides abusing him. On the other hand, an FIR was lodged by Dr Tiwari alleging that an unruly mob had ransacked the hospital provoked by few politicians damaging government property and affecting the functioning of the hospital.
Meanwhile, Dr Tiwari has been removed from his post. He has handed over charge to Dr S P Agarwal. The locals are wondering as how the administration handed over Purnmasi’s body to his family without post-mortem. Dr Tiwari had told mediapersons that Purnmasi Baitha had died before reaching hospital.
