Saharsa : Two bike borne youth shot at and seriously injured Arun Yadav at Chakla bridge, about 2 km away from Saur Bazaar police station in Saharsa district, on April 17, 2017. Arun and his friend Raiji Yadav were on way to Sonbersa from Baijnathpur Chowk when two criminals riding a Pulsar without any registration number overtook them at Chakla bridge and fired at them in which Arun sustained bullet injury and was rushed to a private hospital at Saharsa in critical condition.
The firing incident has triggered panic among the locals. Arun is native of village Itahara. It may be mentioned here that a senior technician of a reputed company Amit Ranjan was shot dead under Saur Bazaar police station on April 16, 2017, night.
Raiji Yadav suspects he was the target of the criminals, who fired at them allegedly at the behest of son of one Suchin Yadav. Raiji Yadav said that he had taken loan from Suchin but had returned the amount to him after a panchayat. But, Suchin was still asking for Rs 50,000 more and had threatened him with dire consequence, Raiji alleged adding the hired criminals had done recce for around three hours even on April 17.
Acting SP Subodh Biswas while confirming the incident said that he had asked the SHO of Saur Bazaar police station to arrest the accused at the earliest. Biswas said that police would record the statement of Arun Yadav and take appropriate action.
