Driver shot dead at Bhojpur village

Ara : Some unidentified armed miscreants shot dead Pramod Kumar, 25, son of Mahesh Singh, a Homeguards personnel, at village Manaini under Charpokhari police station in Bhojpur district, on August 8, 2019., night.

Police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. An FIR has been lodged with Charpokhari police station but no arrest has so far been made in this regard though police are conducting raids to arrest the assailants. The reason behind the murder is still to be ascertained.

SHO, Charpokhari police station, Lalan Kumar said that Pramod Kumar, a jeep driver, was sitting at the gate of his house at village Manaini around 10pm on August 8, 2019, when some armed miscreants came and shot at him from point blank range and escaped. The villager rushed Pramod to Ara Sadar Hospital but he succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital. His father Mahesh Singh is Homeguards personnel posted at Piro police station.

Renu Devi, sister of the deceased, said that Pramod Kumar had gone to a village to collect dues of the vehicles and when he was returning home walking, some motorcycle borne armed persons pumped two bullets into his body killing him on the spot.
