Patna : Dr Dipak Prasad, an IAS officer of 1989 batch and Principal Secretary, Planning and Development Department, also holding additional charge of Project Director, Bihar Disaster Resettlement and Reconstruction Society, and Secretary, Bihar State Planning Board, was on November 27, 2017, transferred and appointed Advisor, Bihar State Planning Board. The post of Advisor, Bihar State Planning Board, was declared equivalent to the Principal Secretary ranks during the tenure of Dr Prasad.
Manish Verma, an IAS officer of 2000 batch of Odisha cadre and Secretary to CM, Bihar, CM Secretariat, has been given additional charge of Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Project Director, Bihar Disaster Resettlement and Reconstruction Society, and Secretary, Bihar State Planning Board. The General Administration Department (GAD) issued a notification to this effect on November 27.
Manish Verma is former Patna DM. He was removed from this post in the wake of stampede at Patna Gandhi Maidan during Ravan Vadh programme in October 2014 in which 33 persons had died. He had succeeded N Saravana Kumar as Patna DM. He had joined in Bihar on inter-state deputation in 2012.
