DPS Bokaro Wins Zonal Dance Competition In ASSAM

Bokaro (Jharkhand) : DPS Bokaro emerged as the overall winner at the Zonal Inter DPS Annual Dance Competition- ‘Nrityanjali-2019’ held at DPS Nazira, Assam, August 3, 2019. The prizes for the best choreography and synchronisation were also bagged by DPS Bokaro. DPS Ruby Park, Kolkata, bagged the runners-up trophy while DPS Nazira, the host school, was adjudged  third.

With this victory, DPS Bokaro has qualified for the National Inter DPS Dance competition which will be held later this year in  New Delhi.

More than 150 students from 13 teams across four states of Eastern Zone including Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Assam, and Jharkhand participated at the dance competition. The event was judged by nationally acclaimed dancers : Elora Bora, a  Bharatanatyam exponent; Bipul Das, an exponent of Kathak, and Anita Sharma, a Sangeet Natak Academy Awardee.

Acknowledging the creative potential of the students in the school assembly on August 6, 2019, an elated Principal, DPS Bokaro, A S Gangwar, congratulated everyone for putting up such a grand show. He said such competitions give the students a platform to showcase their talent.

‘Nrityanjali’ is conducted under the aegis of DPS Society. DPSS initiated this Inter-DPS Zonal Dance festival Nrityanjali-2019 to make the students experience the rich cultural legacy of this land as a part of the holistic education.
